It’s been 3 weeks since Dane and I got married. After a week of personal time off from work, we were back to our life as part of the working class. Unfortunately, Dane and I’s schedules and rest days are opposites, so we only see each other about 6 hours a day before one or the other has to go physically to the office.
Today, Dane decided to take me out on a spontaneous dessert date (because I craved crepes). Fortunately, there was a promising crepe shop within walking distance of where we live—La Creperie, just at the second floor of EDSA Shangri-La Place.
Aside from dessert, La Creperia also serves rice meals like Angus tapa, Hungarian sausage, sandwiches, pasta, and even savory crepes.
Dane went with their Apple Crisp Ala Mode, as someone who loves apples as a fruit.
It was a big serving size, but definitely good for only one person to consume. It wasn’t too sweet so it was easy to demolish completely.
The crumble added some texture to every bite of the crepe, which offered some additional eating experience.

La Creperie’s Banana Brownie Chocolate Crepe was my pick. Bananas and chocolates are my usual go-to for most desserts so seeing this on the menu made choosing the crepe to sate my cravings easy.
The serving size is bigger than my hand. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and the crepe was decadent but not too sweet.
The only downside is it became

Dane ordered their Hot Mocha drink to complement his apple crisp ala mode.
The glass wasn’t too big, possibly only about 200ml in volume. A bit of a disappointment as the drink was also served warm, not hot, which is not what you’ll expect from a hot coffee drink.
All in all, it was an okay drink. It taste good, but you probably had much better mocha drinks elsewhere just like we did.

I on the other hand decided to go for La Creperie’s Mango Shake. Mango shake is one of my restaurant go-to’s, and I thought it would pair well with the richness of the chocolate in my Banana Brownie Chocolate Crepe for some refreshing palate cleanser.
Unfortunately, the mango shake was kind of a downer as it didn’t taste as much mango as I would typically like in my drink. It also ice-y, so there were instances that the liquid won’t pass through the straw when sipped.
Similar to the hot mocha drink, it was a much smaller glass, possibly around 300ml, and you probably have tasted better mango shake elsewhere.

- Would we eat here again? Yes! and we might even go out of the way to do so!
Despite our disappointment with the beverages, the crepes were really the selling point of the restaurant, literally as part of its name. It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but definitely a good treat for the occasional cravings.
The service was also great. The staff they have are attentive and polite, and as everyone knows my deal with service water, we were also offered upfront!
We’ll probably drop by again someday as Dane couldn’t stop dreaming about the Angus tapa they had on the menu!
The La Creperie we visited is located at 2/F of EDSA Shangri-La.
